You can use a weak muriatic acid and water for your etching solution. Carefully follow the instructions of the manufacturer because this is a dangerous chemical. For your safety, wear protective gloves, safety glasses and rubber boots. After the solution has been applied, you should rinse off the floor with water. You may need an extra four hours for the floor to completely dry.After cleaning the floor, you can move your attention to the epoxy solution. Prepare the top coat by mixing the hardener and resin. Make sure that the mixture blends well by continuously stirring it for the next three minutes. Then, put back the lid but let it be a little loose on the can where you have the mixture.

Let it settle for 30 minutes and do not expose it to the sun. Before applying the epoxy, stir the mixture again for one minute and if you have anti-skid granules, add them now.After preparing the mixture, the next two hours have to be fully utilized for the application of the top coat. Begin by applying the coat to the seams and corners of the garage floor with the aid of a clean paintbrush. For the flatter and bigger surface, use a nap roller when applying the coat. To achieve a neat coating, the stroke of the roller should be in only one direction at first. Then for the next section, stroke the roller perpendicularly.
